I learned storytelling from my Grandma at the round table in her Den off the Kitchen. 

I learned storytelling from writing journals, writing to myself like I was talking to some inner best friend, some future self that might want to remember a thing just like I'd have told it. 

I learned storytelling from a lifetime of reading, absorbing, and discerning voices between theirs and mine. 

I learned storytelling from writing with a prison pen pal when I was a teenager, someone who I'd now have to put in the Sociopath spectrum. Definitely a character that arrives again and again, but was Uncle Denny to me. (I have more to say about this, but he was my best friend during some hard times in my life, someone I knew would tell me exactly what it was and not sugarcoat things for decorum. I owe him.)

I learned storytelling from the poets of Dallas.

I learned storytelling from College & University. The list of mentors and influences from in-person encouragement or critique is so long and so far from my stream right now. I LOVE YOU ALL.

I learned storytelling from being a Newspaper Reporter at the Texarkana Gazette and Marshall News Messenger. Again, the list of People to Thank is impossibly long, and again, I LOVE YOU ALL.
